Application Process

Open registration for the community begins on March 1, 2016.  St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School complies with Diocesan policy and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin. All families wishing to enroll students in St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic School (PK3-8) shall be asked to complete an application in accordance with this Policy. Admission will be based on the following categories:

 

Students must be two (2) on or before September 1 for PK2, student must be three (3) years old by September 1st and be potty trained for PK3, four (4) years old by September 1st, and be potty trained, for PK4, and five (5) years old by September 1 for Kindergarten in order to meet the Florida age requirements for per Florida Statute 232.04.

Students entering first grade must have successfully completed an accredited kindergarten program and be six (6) years old by September 1 per Florida Statute 232.01.

In order to ensure that our school will be able to meet your child's educational needs, we require all students to be evaluated by our school resource teacher prior to admission. During this meeting, our counselor will give the student an assessment which takes approximately an hour.  This assessment determines the student's grade level and placement, as well as areas where they excel or may require additional assistance.  After the assessment is over, our counselor meets with the Administration to discuss findings and give recommendations if necessary. Assessments are done by appointment.

 

After the assessment if your child is accepted into our school you will register your child for our school on the school web site.  You will be required to provide the following information:

 

Birth Certificate

Immunization Record (680 form)

Recent Physical of Current Registering Year

Payment Plan Choice:  All families at STACD are required to pay their tuition payments weekly, monthly, or annually through F.A.C.T.S.

Parish Support Verification Form

Baptismal Certificate (If Catholic)

Scholarship Award Letter (if student is on scholarship including VPK, PLSA, Step Up Voucher, McKay)

Most Recent Report Card

Standardized Test Scores

Current IEP (If student has one)
